The Department of History at the University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Pre-Civil War U.S. History. We particularly encourage applications from scholars whose research and teaching interests are in one or more of the following fields: African-American history, Atlantic World history, history of gender and sexuality/LGBTQI history, Native American history, and War Studies. Qualifications: PhD in hand by August 15, 2018. Responsibilities include teaching introductory and specialized history courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and engaging in research and publication commensurate with the expectations of a research-intensive university. The standard teaching load is two courses per semester.
Applicants must submit a cover letter detailing their research and teaching interests, a curriculum vitae, a research-based writing sample (dissertation chapter or journal article), and three letters of reference to UTSA STARS website at https://jobs.utsa.edu/.
